Johnathan Rice - Salvation Day (CD Review)
The Scottish/American singer/songwriter Johnathan Rice is back again with one of his more fiery numbers in the shape of ‘Salvation Day’. The track rockets along from the start and makes for the kind of track you can thrash yourself about to in drunken bliss (or maybe that is just me?). The song snarls along in true disaffected style while the lead guitar plucks high notes that lift your spirit, a whoosy noise that reminds me of ‘Cannonball’ by The Breeders punctuates the whirlwind of guitars. The effect is instantaneous and infectious, a brilliant single.
