Rocio Jurado RIP

One of Spain’s most famous singers, Rocio Jurado, has died after a long battle with cancer of the pancreas. Jurado, who enjoyed a hugely successful career over four decades, releasing over 30 albums in Spain and Latin America, died at her home in Madrid, aged 61.

Paying tribute to Jurado, Spain’s Deputy Prime Minister Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega said the country was mourning the loss of “a person who was so valuable, so beloved, so respected and so important for the popular culture of our country”.
