Cold War Kids - ‘We Used To Vacation’
Share This
Long Beaches Cold War Kids blend a languid bluesy sound with some minor eccentricities and a lilting vocal style. The combination works well and when they get going you really feel it. They can be a little plodding though and sometimes sound like they have dragged out tracks longer than they can really sustain. The Cold War Kids have not floated my boat but their strong lyrics and definately strong image may carry them along to success.
The Cold War Kids’ debut album will be called ‘Robbers and Cowards’ and is due for a UK release on February 5th 2007. If that wasn’t good enough news they will be on tour with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah around then too! In the meantime Cold War Kids will be back in the UK for a gig at Borderline, London on Thursday November 30th (tickets). This will be preceded by an in-store at Sister Ray, 34-35 Berwick St, Soho at 6pm that day.
