Charlotte Hatherley tour and single news

tagged , , , , and

I Want You To Know With the release of download EP ‘Behave’ in December 2006 Charlotte’s new label Little Sister Records and new website were born.

Little Sister releases “I Want You To Know” on February 26th 2007, the first single from Charlotte’s second solo album ‘The Deep Blue’.

‘I Want You To Know’ has the jagged punk-pop sound that garnered huge support for Charlotte’s first album ‘Grey Will Fade’. An irrepressible hook and thunderous drums are overlaid with catchy chorus line. Coming on 2 x 7″ + CD + Digital the package has two totally exclusive b-sides: ‘Sister Universe’ produced by Luke Smith (Clor) and the gently beautiful ‘Suspiria’ produced by Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey).

Meanwhile the remixes come thick and fast with a tech ‘n bass monster of a mix (plus dub) from Osymyso (best known for his sample marathon ‘Intro-inspection’ and the soap opera massacre that is ‘Pat n’ Peg’). Charlotte turns in a warm and lilting acoustic version of her own with multi tracked harmonies and a dreamy folk version produced by Adem (of instrumental band Fridge, also known for his solo album ‘Home Songs’) with his weird and wonderful instruments.

Directed by Joe Cornish - the directing half of ‘Adam and Joe’ - the video for ‘I want You To Know’ shows Charlotte in fighting form, taking inspiration from manga and anime comics and beating up the bad guys.

‘The Deep Blue’ will be released on Little Sister Records on 5th March 2007.

Charlotte embarks on a tour of Ireland and the UK in February 07, to coincide with the release of ‘I Want You To Know’ February 26th 07:
