Irish retro power rockers The Answer are celebrating the end of a very good year with a new single. The hair is flying everywhere, the licks are classic, the chorus is catchy and the whole thing is thrown together to perfect effect. There is even a twiddly solo to air guitar to, as well!
If you are a fan of Led Zeppelin, The Who or Thin Lizzy then The Answer are well worth a listen. Jump on the bandwagon before the herd and damn the mixed metaphors! If you are not a fan of Led Zeppelin, The Who and Thin Lizzy then leave this website immediately and get their records. In short. This is RAWK!
This is a download only single in the UK.

The Answer round off a triumphant year with the release of their new single ‘Come Follow Me’ on December 18th 2006 through Albert Productions.
“Delightfully unreconstructed and properly guileless foot-on-the monitor rock. It’s all here, fret board shredding solos, jet engine vocals. Marvelous” (Andrew Mueller – The Guardian)
Available as a digital download, this high-speed riff-tastic track is accompanied by a brilliant 60’s inspired video where Evangelical frontman, Cormac Neeson, tempts TV viewers to part with cash and find God whilst being led into temptation himself with attractive telephone operators and other er… appealing vices. An x-rated version will be available to view online through the band’s official site www.theanswer.ie whilst the clean ‘church go-er’ version will be released throughout Europe on all networks!

The Black Strobe podcast (located at http://www.remixblackstrobe.com/) has already offered fans a free version of new single ‘Shining Bright Star’, and a specially created mix from the duo’s beat-meister Ivan Smagghe. And now the podcast has been updated with an audio treat from vocalist and frontman Arnaud Rebotini, entitled ‘An Arnaud Rebotini selection’.
Kick-starting with Pierre Schaffer’s forays into sound experimentation, the listener is then taken on a rock and roll journey that encompasses music from Sonic Youth, Shellac, The Rolling Stones, Einstürzende Neubauten and finally landing in the misleadingly safe world of Sufjan Stevens. Wow!
Listen Now: http://www.remixblackstrobe.com/
Today also sees the full single release of ‘Shining Bright Star’, a week upfront of the release of the Parisian duo’s new full length remix album, ‘A Remix Selection’, which is out on Monday on 4th December through Playlouderecordings.

The follow-up to the acclaimed debut ‘We Are Little Barrie’, new album ‘Stand Your Ground’ is ready and due for release on 29th Jan 2007. The new album was recorded during sessions in New York with producer Dan ‘The Automator’ Nakamura. The record is bristling with rock’n'roll energy.
In advance of the album release, there will be a single ‘Love You’ on 15th January. Fans can hear Love You for the first time by subscribing to the band’s newly launched Podcast, here:
http://www.littlebarriepodcast.com/
The podcast combines footage from the band’s recent residency at St Moritz in London, the Summersonic Festival in Japan and album recording sessions in NY.

Because iTunes has a lot of crap they insist is included in the rss feed for a podcast I have used Feedburner to add it all in. I am not vouching for the accuracy or the speed of update of this feed but it should work in iTunes. If you hit trouble do let me know though.
Copy this link for the iTunes feed
Personally, I much prefer iPodder as my podcatcher. I recommend you try it out.

Welcome to the first Betweenplanets Gig Podcast (or GigCast). I met up with the up and coming Reading band The Sand Creek Massacre for a chat before their appearance on stage at the legendary After Dark club.
You can download in the interview and hear some of their music below.
GigCast#1
You can subscribe to this as a podcast buy using the link below in your podcatcher.
http://betweenplanets.co.uk/rss/gc.rss

Post interview, the boys went on to do a storming set for the Reading crowd amongst a very strong line up; they played with flair, panache and real showmanship. The crowd was won over and taken enthusiastically through the songs on their set that did justice to their great love of the historic local club. The following songs, available from
www.thesandcreekmassacre.co.uk, were used with the kind permission of the band.
- Feeling It Once Again
- Take The Time
- Won’t Let Us Down
An Apology: During the interview I said that Cherokee were massacred at Sand Creek. I was wrong, it was in fact members of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes.
